Adding rattles to your flies is a great way to take your flies to the next level. Rattles add drawing power and will make fish move that may not often move for a fly. That's why in the conventional world the vast majority of lures have rattles (sometimes several) inside them. 
This is where we start blending the knowledge and technique of the conventional world into the fly world. 
Take the best of both worlds! The 5mm is really loud, and the 4mm is the perfect size for flies in that 1-4 sz. range.
